The Physiological Ecology and Bioenergetics Lab (PEBL), directed by Dr. Graham Worthy, investigates the physiological and nutritional ecology of marine vertebrates through the study of their bioenergetics, feeding ecology, and habitat utilization. Our goal is to better understand how marine ecosystems function, and ultimately examine ocean health, by exploring the relationships between different species and how those species respond to natural and anthropogenic perturbations.

PEBL is part of the Conservation Biology Program of the Department of Biology at UCF and is also affiliated with Hubbs-SeaWorld Research Institute.

Prospective graduate students should check out Strategies for pursuing a career in marine mammal science and then read the admission policies of the Department of Biology before contacting Dr. Worthy: gworthy@mail.ucf.edu
