The University of Central Florida (UCF) is currently the 6th largest University in the Country…and still growing. The Department of Biology is growing as well, having added six new faculty over the last two years. Current research in the department is broad based, and emphasizes research in ecology, evolution, conservation, cell and developmental biology.

Located just east of Orlando, UCF is within a short drive to several pristine habitats, including the Canaveral National Seashore and Ocala National Forest. Within Orlando proper, there are also a variety of distractions that can occupy your time. Major theme parks aside, Orlando has several downtown areas that are perfect for an evening out, including Winter Park, Thornton Park, College Park and Little Saigon.
