......My lab is generally interested in behavioral ecology and evolutionary genetics. These interests have led us to address a diverse range of questions that utilize a variety of organismal systems, including the ground cricket, Allonemobius socius, and the fruit fly, Drosophila melanogaster. Some of the current questions that we are addressing include, 1) Do males strategically adjust their ejaculate proteins when confronted with different mating environments?, 2) Do male ejaculate proteins antagonistically coevolve with the female immune system?, 3) Does the female immune response to mating help shape mating systems or influence speciation?, and 4) What is the biological impact of global climate change? |
