The University of Central Florida Biology Graduate Student Association (BGSA) was established in 1997 to provide opportunities for UCF biology students to participate in extracurricular activities in biology.  The activities include regular seminars by visiting professors, UCF faculty and grad student presentation sessions, as well as many social events (canoeing, nature walks, volunteer activities, social gatherings, etc.).  BGSA is also an active service organization, participating in both roadside and beach cleanup activities. BGSA members are eligile for the Boyd Lyon Memorial Travel Award which is awarded every semester. BGSA also serves as a liason to faculty, representing the attitudes, opnions and needs of biology grad students.
