The Best Ways to Contact Dave Jenkins

[or the best ways to get his attention and get an answer...]

For brief or lengthy discussions requiring questions/answers and thought among two or several people, nothing beats an actual conversation. The phone works great for this, as long as we don't both need to look at the same thing (e.g., graphs). Even better, call / email to set up an appointment or just come on by the office or lab.

Email is best for short messages requiring only short answers, or for data transfers. Email is Not a good way to carry on a conversation. Please see this guide to effective email communication for more information.
