Information for Current & Prospective Students |
Prospective graduate students - If you are interested in ecology or conservation biology, consider applying to UCF! We have an energetic department and a great location; our campus is home to barking treefrogs, lesser sirens, gopher tortoises, diamondback rattlesnakes, sandhill cranes, otters and other wildlife. I am always interested in having smart, enthusiastic students join my lab. Self-confident, energetic students with GRE scores >1200, GPA's >3.5 and demonstrated experience doing field research have the best chance of securing admission. Prospective undergraduate researchers - I usually recruit the best students from my field-oriented courses to do research in my lab. So if you're interested in doing research with me, first do well in one of my courses: PCB 3034 Principles of Ecology, PCB 4683 Population Biology & Evolution, ZOO 4310C Vertebrate Evolution & Ecology or ZOO 5463C Herpetology. Students in my classes - Course information is maintained on a separate password-protected web site. Consult your course syllabus for the URL, username and password. Academic advisees - I am very flexible about scheduling advising sessions. Please e-mail me a list of specific issues on which you need advice and I will find the answers and reply ASAP. Your career is important to me . . . successful alumni will help UCF achieve its goal of becoming a nationally-prominent university. |
